Mornington HouseWe believe that children learn through play and reach their intended goals using imagination, fun and adventure. At Mornington House children are free to express themselves in all kinds of creative and varied activities and learning is achieved through a diverse range of games.

All education of children from birth to five years is now guided by the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our teacher leads the education for the three to five year olds in a bright and colourful pre-school room.
Each week activities are carefully planned to stimulate and develop all children in the nursery towards achieving their Learning Goals. Activities are evaluated for their effectiveness and every child is observed on how they respond with follow up work planned as appropriate for each individual’s needs. Results are recorded in a profile which is available for parents to read, staff to review and OFSTED to inspect. We hold annual parents evenings where you will have the opportunity to talk to staff about your child’s development.

Details of the planning programme are displayed on notice boards and parents of baby room children receive a daily report of what your child has been doing at nursery along with information about mealtimes, sleeps and nappy changes.
The Early Years Foundation Stage encourages Partnership with Parents. As part of this we use WOW! stickers to ask you to tell us about exciting achievements your child makes at home. We provide colourful stars for you to record exciting event. These are then added to your child’s profile.
