Our Gardens

About Us

We are delighted to announce that following the redevelopment of Mornington House, the back garden has been designed and built by award-winning nursery garden specialist Jane’s Pond Landscaping. The design incorporates all the key areas of learning and is truly an outdoor classroom where children can play and learn in an exciting environment. There is a boat, a story telling area with a beautiful wooden chair and mushrooms, a tepee structure under the tree, stepping stones and hillocks.

Although the garden has apparatus, their use is not prescriptive, leaving the children plenty of opportunity to play using their imaginations. Despite being a nursery garden it is a very relaxing and spiritual place, full of natural materials, with bamboo and grasses rustling in the wind. It really is a sanctuary in the middle of the city. Please feel welcome to visit and see for yourself.

All our nurseries have secluded gardens where the children can enjoy safe outdoor play. There are bikes, balls, hoops, climbing frames, slides and play houses as well as trees and flowers to care for. However, our gardens aren’t just about play; our teachers take lessons outside using treasure hunts and number games to make learning fun and innovative as part of our outdoor classroom programme. Children who attend our nurseries also take part in growing vegetables and flowers to further their understanding of how food is produced. At our nurseries, your child will have the benefit of playing in the fresh air as often as the weather allows.
