Mornington House
Meals at Mornington House are freshly prepared every day by Teresa, our cook and catering manager. At 10am the children enjoy milk and a variety of fruit; lunch is served in the Babyroom at 11.30am and at 12 midday for the older children; and tea at 3pm.
Teresa works hard to create healthy and varied menus of meat and vegetarian dishes using home-grown produce, including fruit, vegetables, eggs and chicken when available.
Special diets and allergies are catered for and meals are carefully adapted or prepared independently for the Babyroom children. We use a six week rotating menu, one for summer and one for winter to ensure seasonal vegetables are used. An ‘international’ day takes place once per week when dishes from round the world are served.

Teresa helps to serve lunch. The children have place names and sit up together with staff to learn table manners and the value of social interaction over meals. You can read what the children eat each day on a specially created menu board. There’s usually a delicious smell drifting from the kitchen as well!
