About The Priory

At The Priory we know about good childcare because we’re a well-established nursery which has been running for twenty-eight years. It’s a small and cosy environment with places for fourteen under-twos and twenty eight over-twos thanks to our newly opened wing. We open for breakfast at 7.30am and close at 6pm with days planned around a routine. This combines the advantage of structure with the flexibility and excitement of surprises.

Children learn through play. At The Priory activities are structured to comply with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Early Learning Goals. Three to five year olds are led by qualified early years teacher each morning. There are French Lessons on Wednesday morning; dance, drama and music sessions with Stretch ‘n Gro on Monday afternoon and a safe, secluded garden which the children enjoy using as often as the weather allows.

As a small nursery we can provide a personal service and homely environment. Meals are freshly prepared by a cook who enjoys creating varied and healthy menus. Our Babyroom is split between babies and toddlers to ensure they benefit from appropriate play and opportunities for movement.

With us you don’t have to do fixed sessions. Subject to availability your child can attend nursery at times to suit you. Fees are calculated on a sliding scale so the more hours you do the less we charge per hour. At The Priory we work hard to make nursery enjoyable for children.
