4.1 Whenever possible such appointments should be made outside of working hours. There is no right to time off for non-emergency check-ups.
4.2 Where it is absolutely essential that such appointments are arranged during your working day, disruption must be kept to a minimum by arranging the appointment at the very start of the day or at the end of the day.
4.3 If time off during work is unavoidable and you will be away from the nursery for 4 hours or more, you should discuss this with your manager who may suggest you take this as holiday.
4.4 Time off for such appointments will be unpaid unless:
4.4.1 lost time is made up with the prior authority of your manager;
4.4.2 you take the time off as holiday in which case you will need to comply with the Company’s holiday rules or
4.4.3 you have accrued overtime hours owed to you at the time of the appointment (for example for a staff meeting) and your manager agrees that you may use that time to cover an appointment.
4.5 Time off for ante-natal care shall be in accordance with Policy 26 of this Handbook.
