41. Meetings

Staff meetings

41.1   Staff meetings are a useful way to disseminate information quickly and provide a platform for staff feedback. All staff (including cooks when appropriate) shall attend staff meetings, which shall take place monthly or bi- monthly at the manager’s discretion, and not in the same week as Cascade Training, unless this is unavoidable.

41.2   Due to the nature of the business, staff meetings will take place after nursery closes and will last for up to two hours. To support staff wellbeing, where possible, nursery will close early at 5.30pm so that the meeting can start and end earlier allowing staff more rest time during the evening.

41.3   Staff meetings are compulsory and persistent non-attendance shall be a disciplinary matter. Attention is drawn to Section 12 of the employment contract regarding the impact of outside interests.

Parents Evenings

41.4  Up to one parents’ evening will be held each year. All staff are expected to attend as part of their normal working duties. No time off in lieu or overtime shall be payable. Parent-staff meetings will be held during the nursery day where possible.
