Visit to Pia’s house

Pia’s mum, Flo, kindly invited us to visit as they have tadpoles in their pond.  They live near to nursery so we walked around together, the children were excited to point out things they recognised from their journeys to nursery.

Mohammed said “I go this way home” as we walked round the corner onto Blackboy Hill.   We also had conversations about how to cross roads safely.

The children loved looking at the tadpoles and the plants in Pia’s pond and then they played with her toys.

When we got back to nursery we used Google maps to find our homes and had lots of chat about front door colours, gardens, which rooms we could see and the cars parked outside their houses.

Trips like this really support a language rich environment.

Thank you for having us Flo and Pia!
