Bristol Childcare regularly supports a range of charities. Charitable giving has included:
Mornington House took part in the Just One Tree day to raise money for planting trees. Everyone learnt about how amazing trees are and the pre-school children planted conkers that they had enjoyed playing with, in the hope they will now grow into trees.
Mornington House also support The Julian Trust through twice yearly collections of clothes and food.
The Priory over the course of December have been taking donations of food, toys and toiletries from parents and staff members for their reverse advent calendar. All donations will be handed out to The Salvation Army, Ebenezer Church and The Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Children in Need – on Children in Need days staff and children enjoy a range of fun activities to raise funds including dressing up, cake sales and Teddy Bears’ Picnics and coming to nursery in pyjamas!
ARBAN UK – BCC regularly donated to this UK based charity who run a clinic in a slum in Dhaka, Bangladesh, providing basic health care to families.
Jo’s Trust – through cake sales, dressing up in pink and a sponsored walk, BCC staff raised an amazing £1477.27 for Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust in memory of Lisa, a BCC member of staff.
Harvest Gifts – parents and staff generously donate food which the nurseries take to the Salvation Army to support a homeless shelter in the centre of Bristol.
Red Nose Day – staff and children come to nursery dressed in pyjamas.
Every year The Court House put “paper angels” up on their Christmas tree with present requests for children in need. The presents that are donated are taken to The Salvation Army to be given to children on Christmas Day when they might otherwise receive nothing.
Each nursery holds a cake sale to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
