Recently at Mornington House, we learned about St. Nicholas day, which is celebrated in some countries, like Belgium where Rachelle grew up. Now that Rachelle has her own child, she celebrates with her at home and thought it would be a lovely idea to talk about this with the children from the Twos room and Preschool. They learned about why the day is celebrated and what happens. They sang the song “Venez, venez, St. Nicholas!”. The children from Twos room placed their shoes by the door, hoping for treats when they woke up from their naps!
