Active Kids

Linda Sweet from Active Kids has started a six week programme of sessions with the children in Preschool. The theme is ‘Spring into Action’ and will talk about animals coming out of hibernation and how Spring is a time for growing. The activities will support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and will include use of large and small muscle movements, including marching, jogging and dancing; fine motor skills; balance, coordination and core stability; remembering sequence and patterns of movement related to music and rhythm; working as a group. The props will be spades, pitfalls, giant dice, exercise eggs and a parachute. Other EYFS focus will include enjoying and remembering stories, new vocabulary, understanding questions, following and understanding rules, imagination and singing songs, understanding of the world, taking turns, counting, understanding feelings.
