It’s autumn in the Baby Room at the Court House and we have thoroughly enjoyed exploring all of the textures that it has to offer with plenty of seasonal activities!
The children have been exploring orange playdough and sticks they have gathered from outings to make pumpkins. We have used our fine motor skills to manipulate the dough and encouraged rolling movements which also encourage gross motor muscles. We have also been using our fine motor muscles to play with the small world characters as we make links to our home environments with seasonal play – discussing how we have been on autumnal walks and what we have seen – crunchy leaves, orange pumpkins, and bumpy logs and sticks etc.
We have enjoyed our introduction to autumn so far and look forward to exploring further through the season!
