We started by focusing on our breathing and clearing our minds. Next I talked through some of the different yoga postures demonstrating how to get into each pose and position step by step. The children then copied these poses focusing on balance and control.
Madagascan Cockroaches from Bristol Zoo
Lucia’s mum, Daphne, came into Mornington House pre-school with some Madagascan cockroaches because she works at Bristol Zoo. The children were able to hold them and observe them carefully, learning about the similarities and differences between the male and female cockroaches. They also learned some new vocabulary: conservation, protection and habitat.

The Courthouse – Chelsea Garden Show
We have formed our outdoor garden space into our own Chelsea flower show by providing waterfalls, bug hotel, fairy garden and flowers. We are using this space so the children can explore the outdoor environments, to plant our flowers and to grow our own vegetables and fruit to eat.
