Over last week at Mornington House, the Twos Room celebrated Diwali, the Festival of Lights. We coloured in puppets of the characters from the story Ramayana and also tried to make our own Mehndi hand patterns. Then we looked at photos of people celebrating Diwali, we especially liked how the Diyas looked. Everything was so bright and colourful!
In Preschool, the children explored Rangoli patterns in different styles. We found fake flower petals to decorate the pattern we created. We coloured in printed Rangoli patterns with felt tip pens. It was fascinating to see how every child had a different interpretation on their picture.
