On Friday in Pre-School we celebrated Holi which is also known as the festival of colours.
The children had lots of fun creating wonderful colourful explosions in the air and covering each other in a shower of colour.
About Holi –
Holi is a Hindu festival celebrated in the spring season for two days.
The first day is celebrated as Holika Dahan (Small Holi where people make a huge community bonfire and worship it) which marks the victory of good over evil, while the second day that goes by the name of Dhulandi (Throwing or applying colour on each other) celebrates the love of Lord Krishna and Radha.
Holi is celebrated on the full moon day in the month of February or March. It is also called the Spring Festival, as it marks the arrival of spring.
