We had a wonderful day taking part in the Just One Tree initiative at Mornington House. Lots of children and staff wore something green and paid £1, which will plant a tree in an area of devastation.
Every child planted a conker to take home and participated in activities such as building a tree house, exploring bark, twigs and leaves and leaf painting.
Jemima taught everyone the Makaton sign for tree and Sally did some brilliant face-painting. The children have been learning about trees recently and that some are evergreen and some produce berries and that some blossom in spring. They chose which tree they wanted to have painted on their face
