During March, a team of 8 of us from the Baby Room and Twos Room enjoyed Makaton training with Nic Pike from Better Communication Bristol. We enjoyed learning new signs and the reasons behind them. We also learnt how to use Makaton in sentences and placement of signs.
It taught us how to break it down for the younger children and has given us ideas of how to use signs and symbols within our rooms.
We are looking forward to working with parents, sharing signs with them that they can use to develop their child’s communication and language at home.
