At Mornington House, one of the children in Preschool’s Mum is German and Dad is Hungarian. This means that he can speak three languages! His Dad came to read ‘Zog’ in Hungarian and Mum read a ‘Peppa Pig’ story in German. The children sat so quietly and listened really well to the stories in languages they did not know. It was really special for the child to share his home languages with us. We then asked his Mum and Dad to teach us some words in German and Hungarian. We are going to learn the song ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ in both languages and once we are confident we will invite the parents in and sing to them!
