We combined learning about these two days together at Mornington House as one of our children was interested in the story called Octopants. We read lots of other stories about the ocean to extend their learning.
Together we created a picture of a whale by combining sticking and painting. We then got a net and put recycling items in there – mainly plastic and also nappies to show and teach the children about all the rubbish that is being put into our oceans and how important it is that we recycle properly and reduce rubbish where we can.
We have been including the children in our recycling at nursery by taking them to the boxes to put in our milk cartons, tins and cardboard. Louise, our cook, did the activity with us and the children tell her every day the things that need recycling.
