Winter Solstice

In preschool at Mornington House, as part of our seasonal activities we talked about the Winter Solstice. We explained how this is the shortest day of daylight and the longest day of darkness. We made stars by collecting twigs from the apple tree in our garden. We joined them together with colourful pipe cleaners. This was a good practice for our fine manipulative skills. Wrapping the pipe cleaners around the sticks proved to be tricky, but with practice we became rather good at it!
