We have been talking in Preschool at Mornington House about people who are kind and some of the children remembered when they had to go to hospital and how kind the nurses were to them. One of our children’s mums is a nurse at Bristol Children’s Hospital on Coastguard ward, which is a surgical ward, so we made them a card and collected chocolates, biscuits and toiletries from parents and staff and delivered them to hospital. We were so excited to be invited in and shown around, we even saw an empty operating theatre. We met lots of staff and gave them our card, pictures and gifts. They said “this is great, it made us smile so much. What a genuine and heart warming gesture”.
