The Priory found a great way to keep cool in the heatwave – making ice cubes to play with. The children were excited to see them in the tray and couldn’t contain their excitement as they dived in to get their hands on them. This extended their learning as they talked about the temperature of the ice and how it was melting because of the hot weather among themselves. To challenge them even more, I got tweezers out to see if they could pick them up and put them in containers. Some managed to pick them up, but others found it challenging and said that it was slippery.
