Lizards

Jemima brought in her three pet lizards today – a Peter’s Banded Skink named Ash, a Panther Chameleon named Taz and a black and white Tegu named Flint.  We talked about what they like to eat – Taz and Ash have locusts, crickets and worms and Flint has turkey, fruit, and vegetables.  We were able to watch them enjoy some of their food!

The children could hold and stroke the lizards and they talked about what they feel like: “bumpy”, “slimy”, “bubbly”.  They really liked the colours of Taz the chameleon and Jemima talked about how his colours change depending on where he is and how he is feeling.  They loved the stripes on Ash and were amazed by the size of Flint – especially the children in our Baby Room!
