Stick Man fun!

At Mornington House, one of the Preschooler’s Grandad made us these wonderful characters from the Julia Donaldson book, the Stick Man and his Stick Lady Love!  Saffia brought us in some sticks and Sally took them home to drill holes for the arms and legs. At nursery, we used the saw to cut the long branches into smaller twigs. Finding the right sized stick proved to be a challenge and lots of maths concepts were needed as some sticks were too thin, some too thick. Getting the sticks in was tricky too and we needed to use a push and twist to make sure they stayed in. Then we drew the faces on sticky labels and secured them with tape. So many skills were used in this activity, together with a lot of resilience!
