The Gruffalo

One of the children in the twos room at The Court House is particularly interested in the story of The Gruffalo, so we extended this by creating a tuff tray with the Gruffalo characters along with matching pairs.

The children then decided they wanted to make a big Gruffalo, so Ruby found some boxes and talked to the children about what features the Gruffalo has. The children talked about how he needed a poisonous wart and purple prickles.

Following this Ruby made snake biscuits with the children. They added all the ingredients and enjoyed mixing and rolling out their snakes.

This links in with our Curriculum intent ‘to enjoy stories, songs and rhymes’ and ‘develop a love of learning, extends their creativity and widens their interests’.
