The Purpose of this policy is to set out how we will work with other settings for the benefit of each individual child.
-
- Parents are asked to provide details of other settings their child attends on the Contact, Collection and Medical Details form. This form is reviewed twice a year in March and September.
- If we are informed/staff find out once a child has started that the child is also attending another setting, parents are asked to update the Collection, Contacts and Medical Details form so that we ensure permission is given for the other setting to be contacted. Connect Childcare must also be updated.
- When we become aware that a child is attending another setting we send an email using the following wording:
Dear
Links with [ ] Day Nursery
We have been informed that [NAME OF CHILD] attends your setting.
We would like to work with you to share information about the learning and development of [NAME OF CHILD].
You would also be very welcome to come and visit and meet [NAME OF CHILD’S] Key Person, [NAME].
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely…
-
- We will try to contact the other setting at least twice.
- If we hear back from the other setting, if appropriate, we will send back a completed All about Me form (Appendix 1) or have a phone conversation or send details by email, depending what is suitable. Staff will decide how best to liaise with the other setting.
- Each style of communication will be different and we will work with the parents and other setting to organise a procedure that works for everyone.
- If we have concerns about a child attending another setting and think it would be beneficial to talk to the other setting, we will contact them specifically about this.
- Staff from other settings are always welcome to visit our nurseries.
