Telephone calls of a personal nature should be accepted or made only in cases of emergency. You can give the nursery telephone number to family/childminders/schools etc for use in case of sickness or emergency.
Use of mobile telephones is prohibited in childcare areas. Car parks are considered a childcare area if children are in the garden. Kitchens and receptions are also considered childcare areas.
If you bring your mobile phone (or other mobile device which includes a camera) into nursery it must be locked in the safe provided. You are only permitted to use your phone and other mobile devices during breaks, away from childcare areas.
During outings, as per the Outings Policy, the senior practitioner will take their mobile phone for emergency use only.
On an occasional basis you agree to be contacted outside working hours by the Company to assist with operational matters.
No camera (including a camera on a phone or mobile device) shall be used in any childcare area which is not the property of the Company.
The Company reserves the right to inspect any personal camera or phone brought onto the premises in accordance with section 14, to ensure appropriate use and adherence to child protection policies.

Use of Mobile Phones in Vehicles
It is unlawful to use a hand held mobile telephone when driving. Time spent waiting at traffic lights or in a traffic jam is still considered to be driving.
ALL employees who drive vehicles whilst carrying out their work will be required to comply with this law. If you do not comply, you will be subjected to disciplinary proceedings. Repeated breach of this policy will result in dismissal.
