Policy 41: Meetings

MEETINGS

Staff meetings are a useful way to disseminate information quickly and provide a platform for staff feedback. All staff (including cooks and housekeepers when appropriate) shall attend staff meetings, which shall take place monthly or bi-monthly at the manager’s discretion, and not in the same week as Cascade Training, unless this is unavoidable.

Due to the nature of the business, staff meetings will take place after nursery closes and will last for up to two hours. To support staff wellbeing, where possible, nursery will close early at 5.30pm so that the meeting can start and end earlier allowing you more rest time during the evening.

Staff meetings are paid as overtime, which the nursery manager will add to WhosOff after the meeting to reflect attendance.

Staff meetings are compulsory and persistent non-attendance shall be a disciplinary matter. Attention is drawn to your employment contract regarding the impact of outside interests.

Parents Evenings

Up to one parents’ evening may be held each year. You are expected to attend as required by your nursery manager. You will be given time off in lieu or overtime shall be payable, where agreed in advance. Parent-staff meetings will be held during the nursery day where possible.
